Tool for Learning Colors

I was reading about Rocker Mom's connect four cards and it reminded me to post about the color cards I made. We are on a tight budget and cannot really afford to buy colored ink for the printer. Hence the homemade matching squares. This is a super easy idea and you could use any colored items to match your papers.

I chose to use these small wooden blocks for matching.
I made some cards with a single color to focus on the individual colors

And cards with a pattern for more of a challenge.

I found our blog probably about the time you were having your baby and I loved it because it reminded me so much of me. I liked your mommy confession monday posts a lot because it showed me I wasn't alone. It looks like we have the same taste in blog backgrounds as well. I still haven't figured out how to put the header on because I'm not that tech-savvy. How did you change the words on it? Glad your back and sorry to hear about all of the trials you've had lately. Sorry, kind of a long comment.

Thanks for the comment! I just checked out your blog...we do have a lot in common ;). To be honest, I am not too tech savy either. What I did was download the program that tcbotb recommended, (Paint.net) and played around with it. It is a really neat program. I had to do a lot of cutting and pasting to cover up the original words. Sorry this isn't much more detailed but I really don't know enough to explain anything. Let me know if you figure it out. If you can't then I can try to change it up for you.

I love those!! I'm forced to color things with markers, too, due to ink being out of the budget. Great job!! Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas.
